Passion for Education

In 2002 Sean Tracey took part in a series of meetings with a visionary team that led to the opening in 2007 of Seacoast Academy, a day school on the New Hampshire seacoast serving grades 6, 7, and 8.  As one of the founders of this independent  school, Sean has also been a member of the Board of Trustees since its inception (and it’s first Treasurer).  Sean also co-wrote (with educator and fellow founder, Christina Breen, English teacher at Phillips Exeter Academy) the middle school’s core values, which are still in use today.  They include spiritual growth, respect for others, and appreciation of diversity.  Seacoast Academy works in alliance with students’ families to provide an innovative, nurturing and caring environment that inspires in students a passion for learning, academic excellence, creative exploration, physical challenge and spiritual curiosity. SA encourage their students to find the best in themselves and to make a connection with and serve their community.

STA & City Year

Sean Tracey Associates volunteers to help non-profit organizations including City Year to accomplish their goals by doing what we do best—telling their story in a compelling way, with emotional impact.  This past year, STA produced two films which are being used by City Year to encourage corporations and individual donors to become partners and help City Year’s mission.  City Year unites young people of all backgrounds for a year of full-time service, giving them the skills and opportunity to become tutors, mentors and role models.  These diverse young leaders help children stay in school and on track, and transform schools and communities across the United States, as well as through international affiliates in Johannesburg, South Africa and London, England.  Just as importantly, during their year of service, corps members develop civic leadership skills they can use throughout a lifetime of community service.  STA’s films were screened at this year’s City Year New Hampshire’s event, Starry Night, celebrating the organization’s 10th Anniversary.  Present at the celebration were U.S. Senator Jean Shaheen, and her husband Bill Shaheen, who have been supporting City Year NH for many years and were honored for their service and contribution.
