According to a recent study by the Princeton University Review, Brown University has the happiest student body (up from 2nd place last year). The Review surveyed over 122,000 students at 371 of the country’s top schools. This is a meaningful milestone for STA, since Sean is a Brown graduate and the newly-appointed Area Chairperson (covering Central and Southern New Hampshire) for the Brown Alumni Schools Committee . Having interviewed applicants to Brown for over 10 years, and tutored the last three as co-chair by long time Chair, Sue Hagerman, Sean’s new duty will be to coordinate alumni interviews for all students applying to Brown in the region. Brown has had a unique and longstanding tradition of interviewing applicants primarily by Alumni and not by the Admissions Department. “This unconventional approach gives a unique perspective and a more realistic picture of a student though the eyes of a Brown graduate,” says Sean, who, 27 years after his graduation, keeps happily active and in touch with his “Alma Matter” 🙂
